In OTHER News....Seeing Double?

Yay! Two Martha Stewart Housekeeping books for me!!! Okay, I did return one....

Here's how it happened:

My birthday is February 10th, and my friend was so generous and bought me Martha Stewart's Housekeeping Handbook for my birthday. While it was in the mail.....my boyfriend bought me another book at the bookstore for Valentine's Day! There's more to the funny story, but I'll save everyone the lengthy funny.

I really wanted this book after visiting Mrs. U and grabbing her book off the coffee table every time she turned around.

Mrs. U: "I'll be right back, I hear Miss. E"
Me: "Take your time..." [reaching for the Martha Stewart book]

Now I have my own! It's filled with so many wonderful tips and guides for every room in your house! I love my book, it's like having an instruction manual for all my housekeeping questions! Do not be surprised if I share some of her tips from this book with you!!

Thank you, Mrs. U and Jonathan!

"No Thanks, I Do Not Need Your Pity"

I know some Christians feel sorry for me because of my desire to be a homemaker, but I really do not need the pity. God has completely changed my heart in the past few years from being border-line feminist, to desiring His will for me as a future homemaker. Upon telling others that this is my last year of school, I get cocked heads, and sad faces. I do not need someone's pity for pursuing God's purpose for me in life. By the way, I really pity those who pity me.

Bread Recipes Wanted!!

I feel like the bargin shopper, "New Mom" with my yard sale find, a West Bend bread machine for $1! Tis true, I was shocked too! It was missing a kneading bar, which I was able to purchase on the manufacturer's website, and I did watch it very carefully to be sure it didn't catch on fire during the first use (hey, you cannot be to careful with yard sale finds!)

Because it was my first time making bread on my own, I chose to follow the basic white bread recipe from the instruction manual (which I'm sure most of you would have never done, as you are all wonderful cooks :D )

Here's how my bread turned out:

It did turn out a little short in length, I think because the yeast I used wasn't for the 1 hour setting I used. It was so delicious when it first began cooling, then afterwards it was so, "blah".

Do you have a great recipe for bread that lasts longer than the the warmth from the oven? If so, I'd love if you could share your recipes and tips on making great bread that is worth slicing and using daily!

Just a Country Boy Telling A Story

I love my nephew, Blake, and hearing him tell stories. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture him saying "far" instead of "fire"! Watch what he does to his mouth as he ends his story.

Can you guess what state he's from?

Praise you Lord for my Birthday!

Yes, today was my birthday and it brought so much thanksgiving to my heart. Here are some of the things that touched my heart on my birthday:

-Hearing my 13+ family members all sing in unison "Happy Birthday" into the speaker phone, 450 miles away (I miss them terribly).

-Getting another phone call from my parents, just the two of them, singing "Happy Birthday". They do this every year and it never gets old. They usually battle to see who can say the last "and many more".

-Receiving the most beautiful handmade card from my best friend.

-Being sung "Happy Birthday" by my church family.

-Breakfast in bed, and Chinese for lunch followed by a long nap.

-My boyfriend who "can't" write cards, but made every word so touching.

-Getting a call from my birth mother and enjoying hearing her laugh.

-Realizing that each and every day is a gift from God and that He has blessed me with such a wonderful host of family and friends.

Lord, I am so thankful for blessing me as you have. Thank you for knowing me before anyone else, and forming me so gently. Lord, I praise you on my Birthday, and everyday for His.

Wearing my Sticker

Today I proudly went to the polls to cast my vote for the primary election. After voting, I was given a sticker reading, "I'm a Georgia Voter." I proudly wore that sticker all day. I praise the Lord that as a citizen, not as a woman, I have the right to vote. I trust that God will honor my vote as He sees fit. I'm proud to be an America, and I'm so proud to have the privilege to vote.

Who said it....

"The Sabbath was made for man, and not the man for the Sabbath."
