Chicken Thigh or Breast?

So, what does chicken thighs and chicken breasts have to do with being godly? Absolutely nothing, or at least I think nothing. :P This is actually a post that fits into that "random" category I mention in my blog header. hehe!

Tonight I cooked Sticky Chicken for supper. It's my husband's new favorite chicken. I, on the other hand, like the sauce...not so much the chicken. See, I'm white meat kind of person....he likes dark meat.

Question: Is raw dark meat suppose to smell different from white meat when it's raw? The few times I've used it, it has had a peculiar smell. I'm guessing that's normal???

Which do you prefer. Dark meat, or white?

So.....I won!!!

Whoo hoo!!! I'm so excited! As MOST of you know, I'm a newly-wed, another WHOO HOO! I love being married, and that means I love fulfilling my God-given duties....feeding my sweet husband!

Another blogging friend posted on her blog about Kendra's "My First Kitchen" spice giveaway when you participate in her survey. I participated, and I won!!! YAY!

Below is a picture of what I have won! I am so excited and so is my husband. He said, "So we NEVER have to by taco seasoning again?!?!" Well, at least not for a little while.....lol!

Thanks Kendra for making my week.....and teaching me lots of things about cooking!!

Oh, and apparently she sells these, so you can purchase them at a very reasonable price!! YAY!

Help!!! I need a meal plan!

I must admit part of my 9-2 job outside of home is monitoring meal plans for children, but when it comes to my own meal plan at home...well, it still ceases to exist. This evening I am sitting down with some of my cook books and going through and choosing "good" recipes. I'll write down what I need and go to the grocery tomorrow.

I know, I know, I KNOW that many of you have great, hard working meal plans that you are very devoted to every week...please share those with me...and all of my readers (the few of you that are there, hehe!). We REALLY would appreciate it. I love learning from all of you!

Link up any of your existing posts on meal plans or blog your meal plan that you've kept to yourself all this time...it'll be fun!!!!

Bread Recipes Wanted!!

I feel like the bargin shopper, "New Mom" with my yard sale find, a West Bend bread machine for $1! Tis true, I was shocked too! It was missing a kneading bar, which I was able to purchase on the manufacturer's website, and I did watch it very carefully to be sure it didn't catch on fire during the first use (hey, you cannot be to careful with yard sale finds!)

Because it was my first time making bread on my own, I chose to follow the basic white bread recipe from the instruction manual (which I'm sure most of you would have never done, as you are all wonderful cooks :D )

Here's how my bread turned out:

It did turn out a little short in length, I think because the yeast I used wasn't for the 1 hour setting I used. It was so delicious when it first began cooling, then afterwards it was so, "blah".

Do you have a great recipe for bread that lasts longer than the the warmth from the oven? If so, I'd love if you could share your recipes and tips on making great bread that is worth slicing and using daily!
