Living the Simple Life

Do you ever feel like you are a hamster in a wheel? Running and running doing the same thing, day after day?

That's how I feel. While we are on vacation, I longed for the simple life. I longed to enjoy each and every moment of the day, and not wish the day away only to stay busier than the day before.

What does it take to live the simple life? Mary Cassatt is one of my favorite painters. Many of her paintings depict women and their children living seamlessly carefree lives. They were not released from everyday chores or the burdens life can carry, but they appear content. I want that for my family, my husband and I now...and our children to come.

Do you feel overwhelmed, and want a change like me?

Or are you living the simple life? If so, how do you get to that point?

I completely understand where you are coming from on this post. I, too, have been trying hard to live a more simple life. The harder I try to achieve it, the harder the world fights back. Life should be enjoyed and with your family. The world thinks differently and will do anything and everything to get in your way.

I think my biggest thing is that when I feel rushed and pushed into a busy time, I just take a deep breath and remember that I and only I control what I do and when I shall do it. The world does not have control over me, but it will if I let it.

When I take a step back to see how I want things to be more simple, it does. I don't know how but it runs smoother in my home, my husband and daughter are not so angry and we are all polite and loving to one another. I still think things could be more simple as far as housework since I work outside of my home but as long as we all help each other, it gets done and we get more quality time together. I am anxious to see what your other followers do to live more simple.

Very well expressed and I love the pictures :) I know exactly what your saying! I don't know if I have found a method yet, but I know one thing that helps is surrounding myself with encouragement in the areas that I want to be great in. I can't help but live what I am loving! :P
