What if he went to your church?

What a powerful message, challenge, and indictment into our churches today. So many are woefully lacking.

What a balance pastors have to lay at the foot of the cross; being a leader in Christ's family, speaking from the Holy Spirit knowing that many will be receptive to the Holy Spirit inside the man and those whose hearts are hardoned only heaping condemnation on those who seek to represent Him.

I think I will listen to this again but it is easy to listen to pastors with condemnation when our hearts are hardened and looking for weakness. Weakness is easy to find in pastors, they must represent weakness that when the Holy Spirit shine through, we know its the Holy Spirit and not a perfect person speaking to us. I walk away from conversations sometimes thinking what the world was I thinking and that fear sometimes hinders me from speaking in the first place. Good on pastors who face that fear and decide sharing what God has shown them is more important than silence for fear of saying the wrong thing. After all we can even take Bible verses out of context to condemn God, so why not a pastor's sermon?

I want to also add that I in no way condemn those who agree with this video but respect the stance they take. I after all have my own view point and know that open dialogue and sharing of different view points inside Christ's family brings growth. So, thank you for posting this video that we can share our different view points on this subject.

Katie,

I wish that I could say that these pastors' words are being taken out of context. However, I can't say that right now. I have done some research and cannot say that this video doesn't come with some truth. The things they are saying are really taking place.

Pastors do have a HUGE responsibility to use the position God has given them wisely and carefully. Many pastors are not doing that today.

Please do watch it again. I get a sick feeling in my stomach when I do.

I just sat down again to watch the video and a do see where this man is coming from. I too believe that Jesus came as He was and He wants us to present Him the way He presented Himself, no promoting, packaging or marketing as many churches do today like the obj. lesson of motorcycles. Pastors are not celebrities as the pastor with frosted tips in his hair (if people are so distracted by his hair, its their number one question, then I would say he needs to make a hair change to something less detracting from God's message). I do think it is sad that sex is not a subject pastors can talk about as it is something so awesomely planned by God and they can talk about everything else planned by God.

I'll stop there. I guess my point is at the end of the day, pastors do need to be held accountable, but just like every single leader in the Bible they are infinitely flawed and in need of grace. I'm just happy that like Abraham, David, Peter, Paul, etc. they aren't shying away from God's calling to their lives.

Katie,

You are absolutely right about everything you have just said. As far as pastors talking about sex, there is a right way to do it and a right time to do it. It has to be done very carefully and focused on God's gift to married couples, only....if couples aren't married, then it should be preached as sin...not to be taken lightheartedly.

Bethanie- I was shocked too!
